Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar lead 2025 Grammy nominees
Beyoncé is the Grammys' reigning queen, with 11 nominations in 2025, including sweeping all four country categories with her historic Cowboy Carter album.

Beyoncé is nominated for album of the year and best country album, while her No. 1 country single "Texas Hold 'Em" is up for song of the year, record of the year, and best country song. Her other nominations include best country solo performance for "16 Carriages," best country/duo performance for "II Most Wanted" with Miley Cyrus, and best Americana performance for "Ya Ya."
With 99 career nominations, she has broken her tie with husband Jay-Z, who now has 89 nominations, including one for album of the year as a co-writer on numerous Cowboy Carter tracks. Beyoncé is the most decorated artist in Grammy history, with 32 awards, and she may finally win her first album of the year trophy next year.
She has some competition, though. Taylor Swift, the first artist to win album of the year four times, is nominated for The Tortured Poets Department, becoming the first woman to receive seven nominations in the category. Other nominees include Billie Eilish's Hit Me Hard and Soft, which makes her the first artist to compete for the top prize with her first three albums, Sabrina Carpenter's Short N' Sweet, Charli XCX's brat, Chappell Roan's The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, Andre 3000's New Blue Sun, and Jacob Collier's Djesse Vol. 4.
Beyoncé is followed by Eilish, Charli XCX, Post Malone, and Kendrick Lamar, who is nominated for song and record of the year for "Not Like Us" with seven nominations apiece. Swift, Carpenter, and Roan received six nods each.
Swift and Malone's "Fortnight," Carpenter's "Espresso," Eilish's "Birds of a Feather," Charli XCX's "360," Roan's "Good Luck, Babe!" and the Beatles' farewell tune "Now and Then" are all vying for record of the year.
Beyoncé, Lamar, Swift, Eilish, and Roan's songs are also up for song of the year, a songwriter's award, alongside Carpenter's "Please Please Please," Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' "Die With a Smile," and Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," which is in its 16th week at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Shaboozey is also nominated for best new artist, alongside Carpenter, Roan, Benson Boone, Teddy Swims, Raye, Doechii, and Khruangbin. Shaboozey, who gained popularity after featuring on two Cowboy Carter songs, is nominated for best melodic rap performance for his cameo appearance on Beyoncé's "Spaghetti." Linda Martell, the first Black woman to play at the Grand Ole Opry, features on the song and receives her first Grammy nomination.
Other first-time nominees include Carpenter, Kim Gordon, Willow, Pete Rock, and Morgan Wallen, who received two country nominations for his involvement on Malone's No. 1 song "I Need Some Help." Malone also received a nomination for best pop duo/group performance for "Levii's Jeans" alongside Beyoncé.
Beyoncé's country and American Roots nominations add to her multi-genre Grammy win streak, which includes R&B, rap, pop, and dance. She even garnered a rock nomination at the 2017 ceremony. Her five nominations in the country and American Roots categories come two months after she was overlooked at the CMA Awards, when she received no nominations. The Grammys' country committee recently dissed her when they rejected "Daddy Lessons," her twangy song from Lemonade (2016).
Months after female acts won all televised awards at the 2024 Grammys, women continue to dominate in major categories for next year, including album of the year, record of the year, best pop solo performance, and best pop vocal album, where nominees include Swift, Eilish, Carpenter, Roan, and Ariana Grande, who receives her sixth nomination in the category with Eternal Sunshine, tying Kelly Clarkson's record.
Although a woman has never won producer of the year (non-classical), Alissia is nominated this year, marking the first female nomination in six years. She is up against Dan Nigro, Mustard, Dernst "D'Mile" Emile II, and Ian Fitchuk.
The 2025 Grammys will be broadcast live on February 2 from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Final voting runs from December 12 until January 3. The top category nominations for 2025 are shown below, while a complete list of 2025 Grammy nominations can be seen here.
