'A Kamala Harris win would mean safety and freedom for women in the U.S.' — Billie Eilish
What was Kamala Harris made for? Billie Eilish considers the Oval Office.
In a Vogue cover story published Tuesday, October 8, the 22-year-old superstar was honest about her opinions on the rapidly approaching general election, just a few weeks after backing the VP for president in 2024. "Many of my fans will be able to vote for the first time," Eilish told the outlet. "So I'm like, 'Do you like freedom?'"

"The first female president?" "Would be really amazing," the nine-time Grammy winner added of Harris. "I would love to feel safe as a woman in my country."
Eilish initially entered the political fray in September, when she and her older brother, producer Finneas, made a video passionately backing the Democratic ticket. "We are voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet and our democracy," she told reporters at the time. "Vote like your life depends on it — because it does."
The "Lunch" singer, who posted the video on her social media accounts, became one of several celebrities to support Harris ahead of Election Day on November 5. Taylor Swift, Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, John Legend, Ariana Grande, Barbra Streisand, Carole King, Bon Iver, Pink, and others have all joined the cause in recent months, while singers such as Ye, Kid Rock, Jason Aldean, and Sexyy Red have supported Republican opponent Donald Trump.
"I mean, this is the most important election of our time, maybe," Eilish told Vogue. She added that she's a "really big fan of women's rights and women's reproductive rights and social justice and gun laws."
"It's so easy to be like, 'I don't want to think about it,'" she said afterwards. "I get the same feeling: I'm only one person, and I can't alter anything. However, the truth is that we are all capable of making changes. And I have this platform, which I intend to use."
