BLACKPINK's Lisa debuts new song 'Moonlit Floor' at Global Citizen Festival 2024

LISA took the stage to perform the song "Moonlit Floor" at the Global Citizen Festival 2024 in New York City's Central Park on Saturday night (September 28).

The BLACKPINK singer unveiled her latest solo music ahead of its official release on October 3, and excerpts from the Global Citizen Fest livestream quickly circulated on social media (see video below). It turns out that "Moonlit Floor" is the song she has been previewing on TikTok.

If you believe you've heard its lovely hook someplace before, let us name that music for you. "Kiss Me," by Sixpence None the Richer, peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1998. The track appeared on the group's self-titled album, which was released in 1997.

"Green-eyed, French boy got me trippin'/ How your skin is always soft/ How your kisses are always hitting/ How you know just where to/ Green-eyed, French boy got me trippin'/ On that accent off your lips/ How your tongue does all those tricks? "How you know just where to," LISA sings, leading into the interpolated chorus of "Kiss Me": "Kiss me under the Paris twilight/ Kiss me out on the moonlit floor" replaces Sixpence None the Richer's original lyric, "Kiss me beneath the milky twilight/ Lead me out on the moonlit floor."

"Moonlit Floor" is the latest solo song from the K-pop sensation, who had previously released "Rockstar" in June and "New Woman" with Rosalía in August.

This year, Sixpence None the Richer will reunite for new music — their Rosemary Hill EP, featuring "We Are Love" and "Julia," will be released on October 4 — as well as a 25th anniversary tour. The live show begins on October 10 in Knoxville, Tennessee, and continues through December in the United States. Check out the band's current tour dates on their official website.
